UMP Application Closing Dates for 2027
The University of Mpumalanga, also known as UMP, has opened applications for the 2027 academic year. If you are in Grade 12 in Mpumalanga, Gauteng or another province, this is a good time to prepare your application. The university has campuses in Mbombela and Siyabuswa. Check the course you want to study before you begin.The closing date depends on the type of qualification you want to study. Undergraduate programmes and advanced diplomas close on 30 November 2026. Honours programmes, postgraduate diplomas, master's programmes and doctoral programmes close on 30 January 2027. Do not wait until the last day, because you still need time to upload your documents and complete the application.
Requirements for UMP 2027 applications
Before applying, prepare a certified copy of your South African ID, your Grade 12 results or matric certificate, and any other documents required for your chosen course. If you are still in Grade 12, check the university's instructions for the school results you must submit. Applicants who studied at another college or university may also need to provide their academic records.The university lists a non refundable application fee of R200 for South African applicants on its 2027 application page. How to apply at UMP online
To apply, open the official UMP application link near the top of this article and follow the instructions on the portal. Enter your personal details, contact information and school results correctly. Create your PIN when asked and keep your student number safe. You will then be able to continue with your application.After entering your details, upload the required documents and select the course you want to study. UMP allows applicants to choose a maximum of two academic programme choices on the application portal. If you need student accommodation, check the residence application section as well. Before leaving the portal, make sure your application progress reaches 100 percent.

Choosing a course is an important step when planning for university.
