Many learners miss the first application dates. But late admissions help them still apply. In 2026, some universities in South Africa allow late applications.
Late applications open in January. For example, University of Johannesburg opens from 14 to 19 January. You can apply online for free. Manual forms cost R200.
Cape Peninsula University of Technology also allows late applications. Their window is from 1 November 2025 to 17 January 2026. You must apply online and check which courses are still open.

University of South Africa (UNISA) opens late applications from 13 to 27 January 2026. They accept students for diplomas and degrees. You must upload all documents online.

Late applications are not for all courses. Medicine, law and other high-demand programs may be closed. You must choose from what is still open.
